We have created a vast system of science which help us to attain the most knowledge we possibly can. We have mathematics, chemistry, physics, psychology, astronomy, biology, and much more. These sciences are well respected, and for good reason. They have helped us attain more and more information about our world around us. It has taken hundreds if not thousands of years for these sciences to build up credibility to be widely accepted in society today.
But how well respected were these sciences before they were called a science? Before there was chemistry, it was called alchemy and it’s practitioners were ridiculed. Before mathematics it was numerology. Before astronomy was astrology…
What is the difference between the sciences today and predecessors of yesterday? I think it’s a combination of a bit of technology and results. As new technology came along we were able to not only test out new experiments but share the data so that more scientists could share in the research.
When science hits a roadblock is when a new discovery or claim completely reshapes our viewpoint or life outlook. When the discovery was made that the Earth was round(although there are some people who still have a hard time believing that one), or that we are part of a solar system and not the center of the universe. People are not always so quick to accept the data and information and actually might accept it at all.
New sciences are being discovered constantly and with that it’s shaping our viewpoint on reality. The field of psychology has learned much from it’s predecessor, parapsychology, and still does. New technologies in psychology are being tested and added to the science. Scientists realize that they know less about the human mind than they do about the Universe!

What is the mind actually capable of? How does the mind work?
Over the past century or so, there have been many researchers trying to grow a science around the mind’s abilities. This pre-science has been called various names like Parapsychology, psychology, metaphysics, and new age are a few.
Here are some of the findings of the hundred years of research:

• The mind is capable of tapping into the same power which created and sustains the Universe. (Global Consciousness)

The process for growing a science can be complicated. As Parapsychology shows even when you collect tons of information there can still be wide skepticism. One of the most important points in science is replicating an experiment to see if you can predict the outcome based on previous research. When those experiments are successful that is when new scientific and revolutionary theories are born.
